Terms and Conditions for Participation in “Baikal-CeraMystica. The University” and “Residence”.


• To participate in the first season of an international symposium, a competition for participation will be held. For participation in the second and third seasons participation out of competition. The maximum number of participants is 20 people.
• Project participants can create original works at their own discretion.
• Each participant shall have her or his own, individual space for work: about 1 sq. meter of tabletop space and a chair. All participants will share one table for drying and glazing.
• This studio facility will be equipped with electric muffle and gas kilns. Participants will be offered equipment for the raku firing, reduction firing, obvara (scalding) firing, and barrel pit raku firing.
• Notwithstanding the small size of the chambers of mobile kilns, it will be possible to create large works or compositions (as the works can be multi-piece compositions).
• All the work done on the project, the participants will be able to take with them.
• During the Plein Air Session, participants shall offer reasonable help to the organizers in arranging work spaces, firing, and organizing recreational activities, tea parties, and so on.
• During the Project, there will be a market in Khuzhir selling original souvenirs, so participants are welcomed to bring their works for sale.
• Project participants are required to decide about their accommodation and meals in advance and inform project organizers about their decision.

 

 

Selection Competition

In order to take part in the Competition, prospective participants should email a completed application form, artist portfolio (either a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation or 6-10 photos in the JPEG, and their photograph to info@baikal-ceramystica.ru.

Application deadline for the first season is April 5, 2019
The organizers shall notify prospective participants about the results of the competition by email no later than April 15, 2019.
Application deadline for the second and third season is April 30, 2019.
The faster you decide, the easier it will be to reserve a place at the camp site.


Expected Expenses of Participants of “Baikal-CeraMystica. The University” and “Residence”

1. Travel expenses to Irkutsk and back;
2. Transfer: Khuzhir-Irkutsk (1100 rubles);
3. Accommodation — Various options (14 nights):
- Tents — 350 rubles per person per night (shower fee is included). Tents, sleeping bags, and mats

- Triple room, possible to cook, shower and village-style toilets on the premises - 600 rubles.
There are numerous restaurants in Khuzhir. Guests may choose to cook themselves using the camp’s kitchen. There are many grocery stores in Khuzhir to buy food.

4. Organizing fee: 12000 rubles
Organizing fee includes:
Transfer: Irkutsk-Khuzhir;
Work materials – 15 kg of clay, glazes, pigments, potter’s clay;
Welcome dinner at the tourist camp;
Branded apron of the project;
Diploma of participation.
5. Optional excursions

STOCK! When a group of 6 people participates in a residence or university, a sixth person does NOT pay the registration fee.
